Night Jungle Hand Embroidered Oversized T-Shirt, Black

A jungle worked across the entire back of a black cotton oversized tee. Palms in yellow, blush and emerald, two teal snakes winding up the trunks, leopards resting in the undergrowth, tropical birds mid flight, and a small cream moon sitting behind it all. Veethreads runs across the shoulders in cream cursive. Every stitch is worked by hand by women artisans in our Bulandshahr studio.

What is on the back

It is a scene rather than a motif, so it rewards a second look. Three palms anchor it, one yellow, one emerald, one blush pink, each with a trunk in a different colour. Two teal snakes with pale spots climb through them. A gold leopard lies in the grass at the bottom and a pink spotted one stretches along a branch on the right. Tropical birds sit in the canopy with orange heads and long turquoise and pink tails. Look near the centre and there is a small crescent moon in cream thread, which is the detail most people miss on the first pass.

The leaves are filled in satin stitch worked in one direction, so the light catches them differently as you move. The snake scales and the leopard spots are tiny separate stitches, dotted one at a time.

Fit

Oversized unisex cut with a dropped shoulder, XS to XXL. Take your usual size for a relaxed drape, or size down one if you want it closer to a regular fit. One cut for everyone, so choose by the shape you want rather than the label.

Care

• Wash cold, inside out, on a gentle cycle
• Dry flat in shade, never in direct sun
• Iron on the reverse only, never over the stitching
• No bleach
