FAQ
Short version: our embroidery is stitched by hand in Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh onto 220 GSM cotton, 400 GSM fleece and acid-wash denim. Wash cold and inside out, size down if you don't want a very roomy fit, and return anything unworn within 30 days, except personalised pieces, which can't be returned. Care and durability
Can hand-embroidered clothing be machine washed?
Yes, with care. Turn the garment inside out, use a gentle or delicate cycle with cold water, and skip the fabric softener. Hand embroidery has no plastic backing to crack, but agitation can snag long stitches. Air-dry flat rather than tumble-drying. Full washing guide.
Will the embroidery peel, fade or come undone?
Hand embroidery cannot peel, because nothing is glued or heat-pressed onto the fabric. The thread passes through the cloth and is knotted off. That is the main durability difference from a print. Individual stitches can loosen if snagged, and a loose thread is repairable rather than terminal. The honest answer.
How do I iron around the embroidery?
Iron the garment inside out, on the reverse of the stitching, with the iron on a medium cotton setting. Never press the iron directly onto the front of the embroidery, because it flattens the thread and kills the texture that you paid for. Store folded rather than on a hanger. Storage and ironing guide.
Is embroidered clothing itchy to wear?
On the front, no. You feel the cotton, not the thread. On the reverse of the stitched area there is a slightly textured patch where the thread crosses. On a 220 GSM tee most people stop noticing it after one wear. Placement matters more than fabric here. What it actually feels like.
Fabric and fit
What fabric are the t-shirts made from?
220 GSM cotton, cut oversized with a drop shoulder. Sweatshirts are 400 GSM cotton fleece in a loose fit. That weight matters because thin fabric puckers around hand stitching, while heavier cotton holds its shape and is opaque enough that the reverse of the work doesn't shadow through on lighter colours. What makes a good embroidered tee.
How should an oversized embroidered tee fit?
The shoulder seam should sit partway down your upper arm, not on the shoulder point. That drop is the whole look. The body should skim rather than cling. If you want a normal fit rather than a roomy one, take one size down. Check the size chart before ordering. Fit guide.
Are the caps one size?
Yes. The caps are unisex, adjustable and one size, made on acid-wash denim and cotton. Denim is the easiest surface to hand-embroider and the best at holding fine detail, which is why the motifs read sharper on the caps than they would on a knit fabric. Cap buying guide.
Hand embroidery vs the alternatives
What is the difference between hand and machine embroidery?
Machine embroidery is digitised, identical piece to piece, and worked onto a stabiliser backing that stiffens the fabric. Hand embroidery is stitched with a needle, varies slightly between pieces, and leaves the cloth soft. Hand work takes hours where a machine takes minutes, which is most of the price difference. Which lasts longer.
Why does hand-embroidered clothing cost more?
Because a person sat and stitched it. The fabric is a small part of the price. The labour is most of it, and that labour goes to women artisans in Bulandshahr rather than to a machine's running cost. You are buying hours of skilled work, not a decorated blank. The full breakdown.
Custom orders
Can I get my own name or initials embroidered?
Yes. We stitch custom names, single initials, couple monograms, birth years and Roman-numeral anniversary dates onto tees and sweatshirts. You choose the text at checkout and it is stitched by hand for your order specifically, which is why custom pieces ship later than stock items. Browse custom pieces.
How long does a custom piece take?
Custom pieces are stitched to order and dispatched within 7 days. Delivery time is on top of that: 3 to 7 business days standard within India, 1 to 3 on express, or 7 to 21 internationally. If you're ordering for a birthday or anniversary, count backwards from the date and leave yourself a buffer.
Can I return a custom piece?
No. Personalised and customised pieces can't be returned or exchanged for change of mind, because a tee stitched with your name can't be resold to anyone else. Faults are different: if a custom piece arrives damaged, defective, or with the wrong text on it, contact us and we'll put it right.
Do you take bulk or corporate orders?
Yes. We do bulk and corporate gifting, including name and initial embroidery across matching pieces. Lead times are longer than retail orders because everything is stitched by hand. Send us your headcount, product mix and deadline. Details are on the corporate and bulk gifting page.
Shipping and returns

What is your return policy?
You have 30 days from delivery to request a return. Items must be unworn, unused, with tags and in the original packaging, and you need proof of purchase.
