Three strawberries stitched by hand across the front of a washed black cotton cap. Two larger berries sit either side of the centre seam, a smaller one tucked below them.

Each berry is filled with satin stitch in two shades of red, then scattered with cream seed stitches worked one at a time. The hulls are stitched separately in two greens. Because every seed is placed by hand, no two caps carry them in quite the same spots.

The cap itself is washed, so the black has faded unevenly to charcoal and the red reads brighter against it.

Care
