Short answer. Custom embroidered sweatshirt delivery time in India runs seven to eleven days door to door. That is a 4 to 5 day studio queue, 2.5 to 18 hours of stitching, half a day to rinse the topping and re-lift the nap, then 3 to 6 days of courier. From October to January the queue runs at the long end, so order 20 days before a December date.

Nothing is stocked. Every sweatshirt is made after you order it, which explains the whole timeline including the part people find annoying.
There is also a seasonality problem specific to fleece, and it is worth understanding before you plan a gift.
The timeline, stage by stage

| Stage | How long | What is happening |
|---|---|---|
| Order and spelling proof | Same day to 24 hours | Custom names get a written layout proof against real seam positions |
| Studio queue | 4 to 5 days | Stitched in sequence. October to January runs at the long end |
| Stitching | 2.5 to 18 hours | One artisan, one garment, hooping through to knot-off |
| Rinse and re-nap | About half a day | Topping dissolved, pile brushed back up around the motif |
| QC and dispatch | Same or next day | Ribbing, spelling and tension checked, motif folded inward |
| Courier | 3 to 4 days metro, 5 to 6 elsewhere | Heavier parcel than a tee. Included over ₹999 |
Where the seven to eleven days go
Tap a stage. Dark is the shortest time, light is the longest. Same 0 to 12 day scale throughout.
Order and spelling proof. Same day to 24 hours. Custom names get a written layout proof against real seam positions.
Studio queue. 4 to 5 days, stitched in sequence. October to January runs at the long end.
Stitching. 2.5 to 18 hours. One artisan, one garment, hooping through to knot-off. On a day scale it barely shows.
Rinse and re-nap. About half a day. Topping dissolved, pile brushed back up around the motif.
QC and dispatch. Same or next day. Ribbing, spelling and tension checked, motif folded inward.
Courier. 3 to 4 days to a metro, 5 to 6 elsewhere. Heavier parcel than a tee.
Six stages. Only one is the stitching itself, and the queue and courier take most of the time.

Why winter is the bottleneck
This is the part that catches people out. Everyone wants fleece in the same eight weeks.
Our sweatshirt queue roughly doubles between mid-October and early January. It is not a capacity choice, it is that a fixed number of artisans can stitch a fixed number of hours, and demand for 350 GSM work triples while demand for tees falls.
Tee orders in that window actually get faster. Sweatshirt orders get slower. If you want an embroidered sweatshirt with no queue, order it in April.

Planning for a date
| Occasion | Order by | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Birthday, February to September | 14 days ahead | Standard queue plus courier with a buffer |
| Birthday, October to January | 20 days ahead | Peak fleece queue |
| Anniversary or wedding gift | 20 days ahead | Custom names and dates add a proof cycle |
| Christmas and New Year | Order by 30 November | Queue plus courier congestion in the same weeks |
| Corporate order, 20 pieces | 35 days ahead | Twenty garments is twenty times the stitching hours |
Working backwards from an occasion: Christmas and New Year, anniversary and Valentine's, weddings, corporate gifting.
When to order for your date
Tap an occasion. The flag is the latest safe order day.
Birthday, February to September: 14 days ahead. Standard queue plus courier, with a buffer.
Birthday, October to January: 20 days ahead. Peak fleece queue. The sweatshirt queue roughly doubles between mid-October and early January.
Anniversary or wedding gift: 20 days ahead. Custom names and dates add a proof cycle. Approving the proof the same day is the single biggest lever you have.
Christmas and New Year: order by 30 November. The studio queue and courier congestion peak in the same weeks, so December orders regularly miss the date.
Corporate order, 20 pieces: 35 days ahead. Twenty garments is twenty times the stitching hours, not a batch run.
What the wait actually buys you is itemised in what a custom order includes.

What you control
- Approving your proof the same day. The single biggest lever. A three-day gap approving a name layout is three days added before the queue even starts.
- Choosing a stock design. No proof cycle, and artisans are faster on motifs they have stitched fifty times. See best sellers.
- Choosing a smaller motif. A chest name is 4 hours; a back panel is 18.
- A metro delivery address. Three to four days rather than five to six.
Four levers that shorten the wait
Tap a lever. Amber is the slower choice, green the faster one.

Those four together can save about three days.

Why nobody honest ships hand-embroidered fleece same-day
Because 2.5 to 18 hours of one person's time cannot be compressed, and that person has last week's orders in front of her. Same-day offers on hand work mean pre-made stock or machine embroidery, and in December they mostly mean machine embroidery.
How to tell the difference. If you are ordering from outside India, Etsy handles customs but adds its own transit time on top of everything above.
Frequently asked questions
How long does a custom embroidered sweatshirt take in India?
Seven to eleven days door to door: a 4 to 5 day studio queue, 2.5 to 18 hours of stitching, half a day of rinsing and re-napping, then 3 to 6 days of courier.
Why is the queue longer in winter?
Demand for 350 GSM work roughly triples between mid-October and early January while a fixed number of artisans stitch a fixed number of hours. Sweatshirt orders slow down; tee orders actually speed up.
When should I order an embroidered sweatshirt for Christmas?
By 30 November. The studio queue and courier congestion peak in the same weeks, so December orders regularly miss the date.
Can I get a hand embroidered sweatshirt faster?
Approve your spelling proof the same day, pick a stock design rather than custom, choose a smaller motif, and use a metro delivery address. Those four together can save about three days.
Does a bulk sweatshirt order take longer?
Yes, proportionally. Twenty garments is twenty times the stitching hours, not a batch run. Allow 35 days for a twenty-piece corporate order.
