Every so often we release new hand-embroidered designs for men's shirts, usually because our artisans find a motif they want to try. Here are 7 from this season, with what makes each one different and who it's for. For the full range, see our embroidered shirts for men and animal embroidered designs.

1. The Botanist

One large wild bloom hand-stitched across the chest of a soft white cotton tee, with white satin-stitch petals, a mustard gold stem, and several shades of green for the leaves. The scale is what's new here, since most of our floral designs are small or medium. Good for minimalist wardrobes that want one statement piece. See The Botanist.

2. The Palm Tee

A coconut palm built across the chest in layers of forest green, sage, and warm brown. The fronds use a textured stem stitch that adds dimension, so it looks more like a real palm than a logo. Good for holiday wardrobes and coastal aesthetics. See The Palm Tee.

3. Serpentine Garden

A serpent winds across the shoulder and sleeve, its body filled with hand-embroidered wildflowers in soft purples, yellows, and greens. What's different is the placement, wrapping around the shoulder seam into the sleeve rather than sitting on the chest. Available in black or white. See Serpentine Garden.

4. Bloom Garland

A full-wrap floral garland across the yoke, shoulders, and sleeves, with red cosmos, white daisies, pink florals, yellow sprigs, and green leaves, each at a slightly different angle. The thread is densely raised, so you can feel every petal. Available in white or black, and the black makes the colours pop hardest. Good for weddings and festival outfits. See Bloom Garland.

5. Wild Prairie Horse

Two prancing horses in chestnut brown thread with blue and pink bridle accents, framed by an oval wreath of pink daisies, orange blooms, and green leaves. The horses look hand-illustrated rather than photo-realistic or cartoonish. Good for horse lovers and Western-aesthetic wardrobes. See Wild Prairie Horse.

6. Cherry Blossom (black and white versions)

A cherry blossom branch blooming from shoulder to shoulder, with pink petals in varying tones, rust-brown branches, and flowers at three stages: bud, bloom, and full open. The varied stages make the branch feel alive. The black version is sharp, the white softer. Good for spring and summer wardrobes. See Cherry Blossom Black.

7. Love Eye

An oversized chunky pink heart on the left chest, thick and raised, with a green eye and deep blue lashes at its centre. Available on black or white. The thickness of the embroidery is the point, more sculpture than decoration. A conversation piece. See Love Eye on White.

How these are made

Each design takes test-stitching before it goes on the website, since a design that looks good on paper doesn't always translate to thread. Once it's ready, every piece is stitched by hand by women artisans in our Bulandshahr studio. Custom pieces take about 2 to 3 days, and more detailed designs like these take 5 to 10 days.
