Corporate Gifting in India: A Guide to Hand-Embroidered Gifts for Teams and Clients

White custom initials t-shirt with black hand-embroidered letters on the chest, flatlay styled for corporate gifting

Corporate gifting in India is dominated by three products: dry fruit boxes, branded stationery, and printed t-shirts. Hand-embroidered apparel sits in a different category because each piece takes hours of individual work. That makes it slower and more expensive per unit, and it is the reason people keep it. This guide covers when it makes sense and when it does not.

Start a corporate gifting enquiry here.

When does hand embroidery make sense for a corporate order?

It works when the gift is meant to be noticed: senior team gifting, client relationship gifts, milestone and anniversary recognition, founder-to-early-employee gifts, and onboarding kits at companies where the first-day experience matters. It works less well for large-volume giveaways where the per-unit cost is the deciding factor. Printing exists for that, and we will say so.

What we make

Everything is stitched by hand by women artisans in Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh. There is no machine embroidery step anywhere in the process.

  • Custom name and initial tees. 220 GSM cotton, hand-stitched letters, currently Rs 1,300 per unit. The most requested piece for team gifting because every unit is different.
  • Motif tees. Florals, birds, evil eye and mirror work. Good for a single shared design across a whole order.
  • Embroidered sweatshirts. 400 GSM cotton fleece. Better for winter distribution and for gifts meant to feel more substantial.
  • Socks and caps. Lower price point, useful as part of a kit rather than a standalone gift.

Six pieces teams actually keep

A spread across tees, sweatshirts and caps, with something for every budget. Each one can be personalised with names or initials.

Name Initials Hand-Embroidered T-Shirt

Add each person's initials in hand-stitched thread on a clean, unisex white tee. It works across a whole team without looking like branded merchandise, which makes it a safe, smart default for employee gifting.

Custom Name Hand-Embroidered Sweatshirt

A heavyweight 400 GSM sweatshirt with the wearer's name stitched by hand. Warm and substantial, it suits winter gifting and new-joiner welcome kits, and it feels far more personal than a logo hoodie.

Custom Initials Oversized Sweatshirt

An oversized, relaxed fit with hand-embroidered initials. This is the pick for teams that would genuinely wear the gift outside work, and it photographs well if you want people to share it.

Custom Initials Denim Cap

The budget-friendly choice for a larger headcount. A denim cap with hand-stitched initials that still feels handmade rather than mass-produced. Good for event giveaways and bigger teams.

Custom Sunflower Initial T-Shirt

An initial built entirely from hand-embroidered sunflowers. A softer, more decorative option that works well for client gifts and for teams who would appreciate something with a bit of colour and detail.

Match Day Football T-Shirt

For a sports-mad team or a tournament-season gift, a whole side of footballers hand-stitched across a white tee. A fun, conversation-starting option for office leagues and football-loving clients.

How long does a bulk hand-embroidered order take?

Longer than you expect, and the honest reason is arithmetic. A single embroidered initial takes roughly 6 hours of stitching. That number does not fall when the order gets bigger, it just gets spread across more hands. Tell us your in-hand date first and we will tell you whether it is possible before we talk about anything else.

Personalised versus one shared design

Individual names and initials make the strongest impression, and they are the reason this kind of gift survives the desk drawer. The tradeoff is that every piece is its own job, so personalisation extends the timeline meaningfully.

One shared motif across the order is faster and easier to plan around. For orders above roughly 100 pieces it is usually the more realistic choice. You still get hand embroidery on every unit, just not a different design on every unit.

Can you embroider a company logo by hand?

Sometimes. Hand embroidery handles bold shapes, clean outlines and solid colour blocks well. It handles gradients, drop shadows and small type badly. If your logo is a simple mark it will translate. If it is a wordmark in 8pt type it will not, and a poor hand copy of your logo is worse than no logo at all. Send the file and we will tell you which one you have.

What it costs, and why

A hand-embroidered tee starts at Rs 1,300 against roughly Rs 250 to Rs 400 for a printed one. The gap is labour. A print is applied in seconds by a machine. An embroidered initial is a person sitting with your gift for most of a working day. You are buying that, not the cotton.

If the budget maths does not work, the better move is to shrink the list rather than switch to printing. Twenty people who receive something made for them beats two hundred who receive something forgettable.

Frequently asked questions

What information do you need to give a quote?

Four things: how many pieces, the date you need them in hand, whether each piece is personalised or all pieces share one design, and any garment or colour preference. That is enough for us to tell you whether the timeline is realistic.

How far ahead should we order?

The earlier the better, since everything is embroidered by hand to order. Message us with your deadline first and we will tell you honestly whether it is doable and confirm a date.

Can we mix different products and sizes in one order?

Yes. You can combine tees, sweatshirts and caps, and choose sizes per person. Tell us the breakdown and we will put it together.

Do you handle sizing for a whole team?

We ask for a size split up front. If you do not have one, collecting sizes from your team is the single biggest cause of delay on corporate orders, so start that before you place the order rather than after.

Will the embroidery survive regular washing?

Yes. Hand-stitched thread is anchored into the weave rather than sitting on top of it, so it does not crack, peel or lift the way a print eventually does. Cold water, inside out, no tumble dry.

Do you ship across India?

Yes, pan-India in INR, consolidated to one address for corporate orders unless you need individual dispatch.

Who makes these

Vee Threads is run by Mansi and Vikash from Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh, where a team of women artisans hand-embroiders every piece we sell. Nothing here is printed and nothing is machine-stitched. Tees are 220 GSM cotton, sweatshirts are 400 GSM, every order is made after you place it, and we have shipped more than 5,000 orders across India. The same two people who run the studio read every corporate enquiry, so when you write to abdvikashtomar@gmail.com or message +91 95285 83327 on WhatsApp, you are talking to the founders, not a support desk. More about the studio is on our about page.

Getting started

Send us your headcount and your in-hand date on our corporate and bulk gifting page. Those two numbers decide everything else, and we would rather turn down a timeline than rush the stitching.
