Short answer. The order note is the box on the cart page labelled "Write Your Customisations and Instructions here!". Type the exact text you want stitched, then the lettering style and thread colour if you have a preference. We confirm it with you on WhatsApp before we stitch. If you checked out without it, send the same details to +91 95285 83327 with your order number.
About one in seven of the messages we get after an order is the name arriving separately: "I forgot to write it", or "where was I supposed to type it?" So this page answers one question properly. Where does the name go, and what should it say?
Where the box is
- On the product page, choose the size and colour. On name pieces there is also a dropdown called "Write Your Name In Checkout Box". That dropdown is only where you choose how many letters you are paying for. The name itself does not go there.
- Press Add to Cart and open the cart.
- Under your items is a text box labelled "Write Your Customisations and Instructions here!". That box is the order note.
- Type your details, then press Check Out. The note travels with the order and we see it the moment the order arrives.
What to type
What to type in the box
Tap a piece to see a note that leaves us nothing to guess.
A name. Type it exactly as it should be stitched, in the capitals or small letters you want. Then the lettering style and the thread colour. Count the letters and choose that number in the dropdown on the product page.
Initials. Say whether you want dots, a space, or nothing between the letters. A.S., A S and AS are three different pieces of embroidery, and we cannot guess which one you mean.
Two initials and a heart. Tell us which initial goes on the left. People often type them in the order they say them aloud, which is not always the order they want to see them in.
A year or a date. Write the date in words as well as numbers, so 4 March cannot be read as 3 April. For Roman numerals, send both the plain date and the numerals you expect, and we check that they match.
A Hindi name. Type it in Devanagari if you can, and add the English spelling beside it. If you can only type it in English, say that it is for Hindi and we send you the Devanagari to approve.
A monogram cap. Pick the letter in the dropdown on the product page, then repeat it in the note with the thread colour you want. Caps are one size, so there is no size to choose.
Whatever the piece, a good note answers three questions.
- What exactly should it say? We stitch exactly what you type. Capitals stay capitals. A dot stays a dot.
- In what style? Block capitals, small letters or cursive. If you have no preference, leave it out and you get what the product photos show.
- In what colour? Name a thread colour, or leave it out and you get the colour in the photos.
Five details people leave out
- The letter count. Count the letters in the name and choose that number in the dropdown. The price depends on it. RIYA is four. AARADHYA is eight.
- Spaces and dots in initials. A.S., A S and AS are stitched differently.
- Which initial comes first. On couple pieces, say left and right.
- The date format. Write the month as a word. 04/03 is 4 March to one person and 3 April to another.
- Which piece is which. If your cart has two custom pieces, number them: "1. White tee, size M: RIYA. 2. Black tee, size L: KABIR."
What happens after you check out
We read the note and message you on WhatsApp to confirm it before any thread is cut. For a name, that means the spelling, letter by letter. Reply as soon as you can: your piece does not start until you do, and on Cash on Delivery orders this is the step that decides how long the whole order takes.
If something in the note cannot be done at the size or on the piece you chose, this is also when we tell you.
If you forgot the note, or got it wrong
It happens, and it is easy to fix early.
- Send a WhatsApp to +91 95285 83327 with your order number and the details, or reply to your order confirmation email.
- Do not place a second order to add the name. You will be charged twice and receive two pieces.
- If you already sent a note and want to correct it, say what it says now and what it should say. Changing or cancelling an order explains how late a change can still be made.
What does not belong in the note
- Instructions for the courier. The courier never sees the note. Put landmarks and delivery details in the address fields.
- A different delivery address. The address at checkout is the one on the parcel.
- Logos or cartoon characters. We do not copy another brand's logo or a licensed character. Names, initials, dates and short words in your own choice of thread are what we do.
Names in Hindi
Type the name in Devanagari in the note if you can, with the English spelling beside it. If you can only type it in English, write "in Hindi" next to it and we send you the Devanagari on WhatsApp to approve. How to get the Devanagari spelling right shows the six places Hindi names go wrong.
Sending it to someone else? Add "this is a gift" and your message for the card to the same note. Sending an embroidered gift directly covers the rest.
