Short answer. Enter their address at checkout, pay online, and write "this is a gift" in the order note along with the message you want on the card. Do not use Cash on Delivery, because the courier will ask them for the money at the door. Then decide whose phone number goes on the order: yours keeps the surprise, theirs makes the delivery easier.
You are in one city and they are in another. The piece is stitched in Bulandshahr and goes straight to their door, with a card in your words. It works well as long as four small things are right at checkout.
Who hears what, and who pays
Pick how you plan to order.
The quiet version. Everything except the parcel comes to you, so nothing gives the gift away. The courier will ring your phone on delivery day, so tell them a parcel is coming, or ask someone at their address to receive it.
The easy-delivery version. The courier reaches the right person first time. The cost is the surprise: our WhatsApp message about the spelling may go to them as well. Tell us in the order note to message you instead, and give your number.
The one to avoid. The courier hands the parcel over only when the amount due is paid, and the person at the door is your friend. For a gift going to another address, pay online.
Step by step
- Choose the piece and their size. There is help with sizing further down.
- Fill in the order note on the cart page. The text to be stitched, the words "this is a gift", your message for the card, and the number we should WhatsApp. The order note, explained shows where the box is.
- At checkout, enter their address as the shipping address, with the PIN code. Use your own email, so the confirmation and the tracking number come to you.
- Pay online. This is the step that matters most.
- Answer our WhatsApp when we confirm the spelling. Nothing is stitched until you do.
- Tell someone a parcel is coming, if the phone number on the order is yours. It does not have to be the person the gift is for.
The gift note
Our product pages put it in one line: "Add a free gift note at checkout and we'll write it on a card."
Keep it to two or three lines. A short note reads better on a card than a paragraph does. Sign it with the name they call you, because nothing else in the parcel says who it is from.
Why not Cash on Delivery
With COD, the courier collects the amount due from whoever takes the parcel. For a gift, that is the person you are trying to surprise. They either pay for their own present or refuse a parcel they were not expecting.
There is a second reason. COD orders take about three to four days longer in our records, and each one has to be confirmed on WhatsApp before we stitch. Our Cash on Delivery guide has the numbers.
Keeping it a surprise
- The phone number. The courier calls the number on the shipping address, and that is also the number we would message. If it is theirs, write in the order note: "This is a gift. Please WhatsApp me on" followed by your own number.
- The price. If you do not want the price to travel with the gift, say so in the order note and ask us to confirm on WhatsApp before we dispatch.
- The parcel. Every order is packed in our reusable sling bag, so what they open looks like a present and not like a courier pouch.
Getting the size right without asking
- Our tees, sweatshirts and hoodies are cut roomy on purpose. Their usual size gives the oversized look in our photos. One size down gives a regular fit.
- If you can, look at the neck label of something they already wear.
- Caps are one size and socks are free size. If you cannot find out a size, those are the safe gifts.
A personalised piece cannot be returned for a change of mind, so a guess is a real risk on anything with a name on it. The measurements are on our size chart.
More than one person
One order goes to one address. For three cousins in three cities, place three orders.
For a team or a client list it is different. On corporate orders we can ship everything to one office or send each piece to its own recipient. Start on the corporate and bulk gifting page.
Will it get there in time?
An order paid for online usually reaches the door about 7 days after checkout. If the date is closer than ten days, read what can still arrive in time before you order. If you live outside India and the gift is going to an Indian address, it ships as an ordinary domestic parcel. Shipping outside India covers the rest.
